No I'm not ready for Christmas so quit asking me! ?(My thoughts & what I?ve Learned)
There are those out there who have had their Christmas shopping done 
since July. ?In fact, the cards have been written, stamped and sent as of December 6th at least.... all of the purchased gifts have been wrapped.... decorations went up Thanksgiving weekend and by gosh you?ve even baked 5 different kinds of Christmas cookies (4 dozen each), baked 2 dozen mini-loaves, and have delivered most of these to lucky friends.
I am here to admit that I was never that person. ?Nope, I think I work best under pressure. ?(at least that?s what I keep telling myself)

There have been years when I did do all of the above mentioned baking (motivated primarily by my love of all things sweet and Christmas). ??And.... I had fun in the process. ?
?
I must admit that with the increasing popularity in Gift Cards and my favorite personal shopper otherwise known as Amazon Prime, ?the art of actually browsing through stores, large & small, searching for just the right gift ?is fast becoming a lost art. ( Stores must know 
this, otherwise why would they have all of those pre-wrapped gifts out in the aisle for us.)

My mother was the supreme shopper...making sure that each gift she chose was something the person could use but wouldn?t necessarily buy for themselves. ?She would spend hours on a gift for someone she barely knew.
?
I got a late start this year thanks to a 3 week road trip followed by 3 weeks of colds and bronchitis, and also work. (darn that 4 letter word). ?No excuse...should have started earlier.
?
Have you found yourself in the same boat this season? ?

Let me share something ?that my very good friend told me. ?I?m embarrassed to say it because it is so simple.
?
The point of all of this holiday ?stuff? that we do is to have fun and enjoy it.... to experience the season ? to share our joy with our friends and family. If you're not getting joy from it.. don't do it.
?
With The Looming Cliff around the bend.... and ?a Holiday Season and lives that have been forever changed by one sick person .... stressing over cookies that remain unbaked or packages yet to be mailed seems so insignificant.
