WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two U.S. Coast Guard helicopters have intercepted a small plane that flew into restricted airspace around the nation's capital.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command said the small general aviation aircraft was redirected away from Washington by two HH-65 Dolphin helicopters just before noon on Saturday. It was diverted to Annapolis, Md.
Officials say the pilot was to meet with local law enforcement officials. Additional details of the incident were not immediately available.
On Monday, another place was intercepted, and last Saturday two F-15 fighter jets intercepted a plane that flew too close to Camp David in Maryland.
NORAD is responsible for defending the air space from attacks.
