It is no wonder that dogs are most wanted pets. In US itself, 45.6 million households have pet dogs. On the other hand, 38.2 million households have cats as their pet. ?Equines are the least opted pets, as only 3.9 million households have them.
Although the households owning dogs are more, ?pet cats are more in number than pet dogs in USA. There are about?86.4 million pet cats as compared to 78.2 million pet dogs. Same goes for fish also. Households owning fish are only 13.3 million but the actual population of pet fish are 151.1 million.
The probable reason is cat owners and fish owners tend to have more than one cat or fish which is not the case with dogs.
