Middle East Expansion Still on Track for New Zealand Radio - A2Z news

The Middle East will continue to be a key growth market for Tait Radio Communications, the world leader in advanced voice and data radio communications solutions, the company announced. The Christchurch-based business with 18 years? experience in the Middle East will continue with its ambitious plans for expansion in the Gulf and wider region, despite the recent devastation caused by the earthquake in its home city.

Within the next five years, Tait ? which operates in over 150 countries globally ? aims to double the five per cent market share it has already established in the radio communications sector across public and private transport and emergency services in the region. The company and its products recently played a critical role in recovery efforts following the New Zealand earthquake by supplying specially-built radios to the emergency services and re-programming radios bought in by international rescue teams arriving in Christchurch.

At an evening event hosted by Tait, onboard the Bateaux Dubai on Dubai Creek, the company discussed its regional strategy for growth with transport professionals and local decision makers. Speaking at the event, Nick Avill, Sales Manager Middle East and Africa at Tait was positive about the future of the company. ?Transport solutions across much of the Middle East are still in their infancy however during the period we have been operating in the region, we have seen the industry change and modernize dramatically.

?As Middle East countries begin to invest more heavily in integrated public transport systems ? which is certainly the case here in the Gulf ? the demand for reliable voice and data communications for vehicles including buses and trains, as well as emergency services like police, ambulance and fire brigades, is increasing rapidly. We see great potential here to expand our business in a market that is growing at a steady pace.?

The event was supported by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the New Zealand government?s national economic development agency. Anne Chappaz, NZTE?s Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, commented on this particularly important time for Tait and all New Zealand companies with a presence in the region. ?We appreciate the generous support and sympathy we?ve received from our friends in the Gulf region and we want to let people know that New Zealand is very much open for business, investment and tourism.

?To help the Christchurch economy recover, Tait and other New Zealand companies across the Middle East will continue to focus on growing their businesses and keeping the outstanding reputation New Zealand has for innovative, reliable and high quality products at the forefront of people?s minds.?

Tait uses suppliers from a variety of locations, so has suffered no component shortages in the period following the natural disaster in New Zealand. The company also exports its products via air freight so deliveries to clients across the globe have remained consistent.

Tait Radio Communications services a variety of industries worldwide, including Public Safety (Police, Fire, Ambulance and Military), Utilities (Electricity and Water, Oil, Gas and Chemical production) and Transport (Rail and Bus). The company is also participating for the second year at the UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition, Dubai World Trade Centre.
