Box Office: Real Steel Takes Down Footloose, The Thing Remakes (omg!)

In its second week, Real Steel still packed a punch and narrowly beat the Footloose remake, Box Office Mojo reports.

The Hugh Jackman-starring film grossed an estimated $16.3 million. The new Footloose was hot on Jackman's steps, taking in $16.1 million in its first weekend. Another remake, The Thing, scared up $8.7 million to come in third.

Real Steel outmuscles the competition; Ides of March strong second

At No. 4, The Ides of March drew $7.5 million. Dolphin Tale completed the top 5, with $6.3 million.

In the midst of postseason baseball, Moneyball drummed up $5.5 million in ticket sales and ranked sixth. 50/50 took No. 7 with $4.3 million.

Rounding out the top 10: Courageous (No. 8, $3.4 million), the new Steve Martin film The Big Year (No. 9, $3.3 million) and The Lion King re-release (No. 10, $2.7 million).
