iPhone and iPad in the Health Sciences (March 13) | UMHS Headlines

You are invited to attend a session focused on demonstrating how technology and mobile devices like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch are impacting the classroom, hospitals and clinics.

This program can help anyone in healthcare education. This event is an opportunity to see and hear how health science education programs are achieving academic excellence by putting technology in their students? hands. Learn how mobile devices and relevant apps are changing how we teach and how your students will ultimately engage their patients.

As healthcare needs continue to rise, the healthcare education market is becoming ever more competitive. Research shows students with routine access to technology score higher in writing assessments, demonstrate better analytical skills, engage in problem solving, and collaborate more effectively on schoolwork?all of which, ultimately, lead to higher student achievement.

The program agenda includes discussion on how technology changes learning, and is designed with breakout sessions for both curriculum and leadership attendees. You will hear from U-M Health Science staff currently using technology in innovative ways to make a difference, have the opportunity to experience Apple?s Digital Learning Environment through hands-on sessions, and interact with your peers from various departments. You?ll also see how the explosion of mobile computing is changing the face of bedside care.
